Dear Pali Baseball Families,

Now that the second semester has started and our baseball season has begun we are asking for donations to assist with paying for the spring program.  In addition to our regular Western Division Season games, we are playing in a number of tournaments.  The Varsity players will also participate in a week-long tournament in San Diego over Spring Break.  The suggested donation amount is $450 per player to support the costs associated with the program.  Some of the costs incurred are field maintenance, equipment, equipment repairs, and tournament fees, as well as hotel accommodations for the coaches and players in San Diego.

We understand this is a substantial amount for which we are asking and if you cannot contribute at this level, any amount is greatly appreciated. It is only a request to help subsidize the spring program, which otherwise receives minimal funding.  The donation is tax deductible and you will receive a donor receipt reflecting the amount paid.

Please send in your check payable to Palisades Charter High School and write Baseball Team Account in the memo section.  The checks can be given to me directly as they will be deposited into the school baseball account, as opposed to our non-profit, which manages all Fall donations only.

As always, we appreciate your support and look forward to a winning 2019 season.

Warmest regards,

Mike Voelkel

Head Baseball Coach

FUNDRAISING 2016

Traditions Dinner--This is our big fundraising event every year.  Normally, it takes place in November, but this year we are having it January 29, 2017. Details on venue and silent auction are available on the Traditions Dinner tab on the website.

Projects - We have three projects we would like to accomplish: 1)  Fence near first base side; 2) Awning over home bleachers; and 3) Awning over visitor bleachers. We are happy to announce that the fence has been taken care of, so now we are looking for funding for the two sets of awnings.

Banners - We are continually selling banners to families and local businesses.  The cost is a $500.00 donation and the banner stays up for a year.

Bricks - If you want a family brick, the cost is $300.000 and your family name will always be remembered in Pali baseball history.

** If anyone wants a banner and brick we have a
special for $650.00 you can get both items.

LIONS TOURNEY 2016 RECAP

________________

PALISADES VARSITY GOES 2-2 IN LIONS TOURNEY

DRAMATIC DEFENSE AND SOLID HITTING WITH A HART HOMERUN  GIVE THE DOLPHINS AN EXCELLENT OUTING
IN 2016 TOURNAMENT

Palisades kept the El Camino HS team to a 3 run lead in the first day of game play in San Diego 3/21.  Starter Leo Bucksbaum held the Wildcats to their 3 run lead after the first.  Solid defense and timely hitting kept the Dolphins within 2 runs through seven innings.
Final:
El Camino HS 3 - Palisades 1

Palisades turned up the pressure in Tuesday's game against Valhalla High in El Cajon with Justin Hirschberg throwing heat off the mound for 6 innings, keeping Valhalla to only one run.  The Norsemen came back in the 7th to score one more run, not enough to roil the Dolphins.  Strong hitting with a homerun by senior Harrison Hart kept the Dolphins on top all game.
Final:
Palisades 6 - Valhalla 2

Day three brough a heartbreaking loss for the Dolphins.  The game between Palisades and Scripps Ranch remained scoreless through seven innings, with Roben Seiling pitching a stellar game through all seven.  Palisades couldn't keep the Falcons at bay in extra innings, as multiple errors in the eighth cost reliever Hart two runs.  Palisades remained scoreless bottom of the eighth.
Final:
Scripps Ranch 2 - Palisades 0

The Consolation Game played at Carlsbad High School Thursday proved to be the most dramatic of the tourney. Leftie Augie Sylk pitched four aggressive innings, and Palisades bats were on fire, bringing the team to a 4-1 lead after four.  Relievers Will Smith and Will Bucksbaum tried to keep the Lancers back, but they snuck past the Dolphins to take the 5-4 lead in the 6th.  Palisades ripped hit after hit top of the seventh to take a 7-5 lead.  Reliever Harrison Hart proved stalwart, preventing the Falcons from scoring bottom of the seventh.
Final:
Palisades 7 - Carlsbad 5
